Well, a passion for
lambrettas that started in the late 60's .. went to sleep in the mid 70's and woke up in the 2000's!!
I actually now own all at once more lammies than I ever did added together in my youth!!
1968 saw my first ever Lambretta... a blue and white Li 150 series 2 ... XCG 490 ...
Shortly afterwards I traded it in at Rafferty Newman in Fareham for a Gold and green Li150 Special FBK 258D... yum!
Time moved on and so did I, my parents moved to London, and I followed shortly after with the Li loaded up with my gear.
By now it was 1970 and the new GP range had come out ... so I did a deal with Harry Gill motors in Gosport .. rode the Pacemaker from London to Gosport and my new GP 150 (VAA 41H) all the way back .. and it was February and c-c-cold!!
..... to 2004 .. there was I, sitting all innocent-like in front of my PC when the missus says "Why dont you get a hobby? What about those lambretta things you were talking about the other day?"
So, I tap in "Lambretta" as a google search and ... WOW!.....
2 weeks later I blagged an old transit van off a friend, drove up to Oxford and bought my series 3 Li150 from Enrico.... but the bonus was, he showed me his collection of scooters .. I just couldn't believe that the Lambretta scene was alive and well!!
