Jamie From Maidstone says...Hello.
Thank you for sharing all this information on restoring lambretta's, My dad an ex owner of a lambretta brought a couple a few years back and within the last month i have started restoring one of them, i am lucky enough to have sandblasting equipement at work so have blasted everything apart from the frame which unfortunatly is too big, so will have to be done elsewhere. At least there is people local - ish to me who have done simular projects.
Kind regards and thanks again for all the info.

Hi, Gary,
Thanks for the comments...
The runners you describe were only fitted to 125 series 1/2's. My series 1 which is a 125 is garaged at a friends at the moment, so I cant check the type of fitting used... there are no spacers fitted under them, I will check mine as soon as i get a chance to get over and have a look at mine. I think i'm right in saying that the top hat fitting is different between series 2 and 3, so you may have the wrong one, unless you are fitting the original.
Alternatively, you could post the question on the scootererotica forum, as it's free to post and you may get a quicker answer there
Keep me informed, please, as i am always interested to know answers such as these

just came upon this this morning, great article and lovely scooter.I have a 1959 125 series 2 that I am rebuilding at the minute.I am presently trying to put back on my front floor runners, but are different to yours as mine don't require an insert as they are just aliminum with criscross effect on top.I was wondering is there any sort of gasket or spacer goes under these as my top hats that go throw the legshields from the front seem to be making my runners sit up from the legshield floor or are they different length of top hats.Again lovely scooter and enjoy Gary
